After working at large Contract Research Organizations (CROs) — including PRA International, PPD Inc, Cato Research, and INC Research — Paul Bishop and Lyle Camblos had a vision to create a CRO focused on providing superior clinical trial management services to small and mid-sized biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Both had seen that these companies were not receiving the same quality of clinical drug development services as larger companies.

It was the goal of filling this void that led to the formation of Atlantic Research Group, Inc. And it is this vision that continues to guide the company on a daily basis.

ARG has become a preferred clinical trial management provider for emerging biopharmaceutical companies. This position was earned by the focus, passion and total commitment of the entire ARG team.

What exactly does this mean?

For one client, ARG was able to successfully get the first patient enrolled only six weeks after signing the contract. For another, we managed a series of trials that resulted in the sponsor company's first BLA submission to the FDA. This pivotal late stage trial went through significant FDA scrutiny, and the results were without any negative findings.

This kind of success is due not only to the enthusiasm of the Managing Partners, but also to their foresight in creating a CRO that takes advantage of leading-edge technology to manage clinical trials.

In 2006 Hunter Walker joined ARG as Vice President of Clinical Systems and created TrialVista®, a proprietary clinical trial management system (CTMS) that tracks, measures, and reports on every aspect of a clinical trial.

Hunter brought a wealth of clinical technology experience that he obtained at PRA International, as well as industry insight gained at Isis Pharmaceuticals. He is a pioneer in the software-as-a-service approach to clinical information technology.

Since its implementation across all ARG projects, TrialVista has significantly improved study start-up, enrollment, quality control and project management.

With the addition of TrialVista, ARG has become the first CRO to provide small to mid-sized biotech and pharmaceutical companies with superior clinical trial management services backed by leading-edge technology.
